How to use
- To detect a key, press or hold three chord notes. For example, A–C–E shows Am / C.
- Click the detected key badge at the top to copy the name in a Melodyne-friendly format, such as A Minor or C Major.
- Use + and − to transpose the detected key up or down by a semitone.
- The min button sets a minor key from the last played note; maj sets a major key.
- The ⇄ button enables adaptation mode: play one familiar A minor fingering and the tool moves it into the selected key.
- Use the MIDI button to connect an external MIDI keyboard after browser permission.
- The yellow mini keyboard shows chords of the current minor key. Click them to build harmony quickly.
- Press REC, play a short melody up to 20 seconds, then STOP. First press UP 3 with the melody, then turn +MEL off and listen to the harmony voice alone. Finally press HARMONY for the fuller pack.

Quick examples
Start with a complete triad rather than three unrelated melody notes. Press all three notes together or in quick succession so the tool can recognise the chord.
Try these simple triads on the piano:
- A–C–E → A minor / C major
- C–E–G → C major / A minor
- G–B–D → G major / E minor
- D–F–A → D minor / F major
Why the result may show two keys
A triad can belong to more than one musical context. The pair shown by the tool is a starting point: use the bass, cadence and point of resolution to decide which key is actually central in the song.

What the result means — and what it does not mean
WE2EASY recognises a clear major or minor triad and shows the related major/minor context. A result such as C major / A minor is intentionally shown as a pair because those two keys use the same seven note names. The true tonal centre must still be confirmed from the bass, cadence, chords and the place where the melody feels resolved.
Important: the harmony buttons create a starting sketch, not a finished arrangement. Check sustained notes against the current chord and the singer's range before recording.
Why this tool is different
Most key tools stop after naming a scale, and many harmony tools require an audio upload. Here the key, chords, MIDI piano, transposition and vocal-harmony playback stay on one page.
That makes the result practical for singers, teachers and producers: you can hear whether a harmony supports the melody before opening a DAW or recording a real backing vocal.
The tool cannot replace musical taste. It gives a fast, clear sketch that should still be checked by ear, adjusted to the lyrics and fitted to the singer’s range.
